Where to begin?

Hi there again! I’m Aidan, and I’m a full-time photographer and fillmmaker in New York, NY. I’ve lived a few lives; born in Chicago, IL, I grew up in Westchester, NY. In my teens, I struck a balance between working as a framing carpenter, building barns and chicken coops, and acting in stage plays & musicals.

I attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and earned two bachelor’s degrees in my four years: a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a Bachelors of Arts in Theater & Theater Design.

The first thing people say when I tell them the above is “wow, those are very different.” You’re right, I would ride my bike directly from advanced dynamics and thermodynamics to a stage where I’d be designing a 12 ft. tall marionette, it was a blast.

After graduating, I held several positions as an engineer - I designed bespoke car parts for luxury vehicles, designed set pieces for Disney Cruises, started my own business designing custom manufacturing for inventors. Finally, I began working as an MEP Engineer in Manhattan.

The whole time, I’d been chasing my dream of building a career in photo & video creation.

I first discovered my love of photography when I escaped the U.S.A. to London, running far from a bad breakup. I would spend days, and all of my savings, wandering the streets and taking photos on my small, amateur mirrorless camera.

I found a knack for spotting stories of strangers in motion.

I worked double-time between my engineering and arts works, slowly saving up enough to set out on my own as a freelancer. After making my first few connections, I spent my weekends photographing weddings and special events, and my weekday off-hours in the home-studio I’d created in my tiny apartment from cheap backdrops and mismatched lights from Facebook Marketplace.

This is where I developed my style - uncovering authentic stories and personalities through dramatic lighting, candid moments, and a need to capture not the perfect moment, but the most important one.

After a year-and-a-half, I tendered my resignation as an engineer. Free to create and explore, I bring my need to exceed to every project I work on.

At weddings, I create time-capsules that snatch the most important people in your life, and seal their love in a bottle.

In the studio, I make a world that showcases you, a real person, and add excitement and mystery to match.

I’m versatile, adventuring, and I make work that you and I can both be proud of,

let’s make something together.
